I was a world traveler as a younger man. I lived in the south of France in 1998 for Cup Du Monde over an entire summer for personal business. After meeting fellow students while I was in Cannes France home of the World Film Festival, I continued on to Grassé France and toured the Fragonard. Home of the one and only Chanel. The family that hosted me showed me the ropes to what the French called, clues. Repelling and using rope course techniques in the mountains of South France. We laid down the groundwork for his son to start his canyon spelunking tour company. This included testing all jumps and drops off of cliff faces, installing rope eyelets with feathers and wedges in the rock faces for repelling, and just having a great time enjoying life. One of my other achievements while there was demonstrating my exceptional fishing skills to the uncle of my friend. He was a French scientist who employed me to research and go after a very rare and elusive fish called the moon-eye fish. After tracking down various nests, I caught many females extracted their ovaries and preserve them with dry ice. His uncle was doing breakthrough studies that required the fish eggs and ovaries to use in his scientific field.
After France I went on to conquer Sweden with three tours. Using my contacts I met in the south of France I was invited to stay with all three of my contacts. I learned about my family history, and literally inhaled the swedish culture language weather and way of life. I stayed in Stockholm, Västerås, and Gothenburg Sweden
And most recently I took three tours to the lovely and amazing Netherlands. I was the first of 53 super fans from all over the world to participate in the first ever Anneke fan weekend. One of my favorite singers and friends from all over the world got to participate in this exclusive event. We went on intimate glass top canal tours as anarchy serenaded us with her Golden voice and acoustic guitar. We took tours of the whole city stayed in famous venues and were front row and center for the grand finale of her project super group, The Gentle Storm. I made solid lifelong friendships but in particular my good friends the Schiopers, who lives in the north of Fryslân Holland. I was privileged enough to tour ancient castle ruins, small quaint fishing villages, and my favorite of all time the mighty Woudan. Woudan is and was the gold standard for Dutch engineering. You see the Netherlands is the lowest below sea level in all of Europe and in the 1950s the entire country was flooded out losing many human lives and livestock. This is why Amsterdam is totally built up on a old Marsh on wood stilts for the old merchant houses and after that they constructed large dikes and massive seawalls around the city to protect from any surging waves. Woudan is a massive turbo powered pump house that is basically in a castle sitting atop a raging river that powers the turbines. It has its own movie theater gift shop and is still a working system to this day saving the country from devastation.
So you see I have lived a very interesting life, and I am just getting started.
Within the past 5 years I have fallen in love with fossil hunting and paleontology. I am hands down the owner of the most expensive shark tooth collection in Middle Georgia. I fossil hunt all over Middle Georgia discovering the fall line where Houston county was a beach thousands of years ago. I have fossil hunted wauchula Florida known as bone valley, Gainesville florida, the fall line Middle Georgia, Summerville and Charleston South Carolina many times, Holden Beach North Carolina, and Aurora North Carolina. I since then have joined the mid Georgia gym and mineral society at the Museum of Arts and sciences. I'm a sitting member of the board of trustees and help organize field trips. I also volunteer at the Museum during national fossil day. I have hunted hematite, Goethites and Thalassinoides in Buena Vista Georgia, crazy lace agate in Summerville Georgia, technoid seabiscuits and Cochran Georgia, agatize c-boulders and beautiful chert and Hawkinsville Georgia, gastropods and dry Branch Georgia, and very rare fossils and shark's teeth in Twiggs county Georgia. I was lucky enough after many years of research to discover a very rare and scarce oligocene exposure that comes down from the Carolinas into a very small area of Middle Georgia where the barnwell and Ocala formation overlap. Thus producing world class colors from the kaolin with the teeth and fossils. I even help start Ka•Min clubs only field trips to irwinton Georgia to find sharks teeth and fossils.
The past three to four years I started my own business. I run Aardvark Landscaping, and have over 20 clients in the Middle Georgia area.
I'm multilingual speaking French Spanish and Korean a little on the side. I love fossil hunting hiking kayaking most recently on the Withlacoochee River on the Georgia and Florida State line for very beautiful agatas coral heads.
