Jessica Goggin

I been a volunteer for the alderman's office (18th ward) for about 6 years now. The alderman's office held several events through out the year. Thanksgiving and christmas are the largest events.

Within two years of working as a server my duties included takeout orders,waiting on tables, getting morning shift prep work ready, having to balance my cash drawers at the end of my shift as well as occasionally being able to serve cocktails.

• Bussed and reset tables to keep dining room and work areas clean. Cultivated warm relationships with all of my customers.

My duties were to distributed ballots to voters and answered questions concerning voting procedures. Collecting necessary information from voters to determine correct voting location and ballot.

• I worked with young children throughout the summer. I led groups of children through a variety of camp activities. I also documented activities, injuries and accidents to inform parents and staff.

• I volunteer in the youth department of the library for two summers in a row, reading books to young children, helping them completing arts and crafts. I also taught them minor computer skills.
• I developed weekly activities to engage children and promote summer learning.
