My position is at the Seneca Park Zoo under the facility department. With this role, I oversee part time heavy laborers, seasonal hires, building service workers and manage the running of the zoo tram During the summer season.
Overseeing the part time heavy labor, I implement training for all areas including cleaning of the public areas of zoo, grounds help including trash collection and seasonal needs whether it is weeding, raking or snow removal. This position is fluid and tasks are determined by each days needs.
Building service workers are trained on cleaning restrooms, public galleries, windows, along with project cleaning which requires a scheduled time to shampoo carpets, deep clean areas and scrub floors.
Tram season, I interview and hire attendants to act as customer service representatives to to tram service. This will include, training on job details, create a schedule to ensure proper coverage to have the best guest experience while utilizing the tram service. I resolve any issues that arise with the tram itself to calling our fleet mechanics if necessary to any guests concerns or complaints that happen, create incident reports if needed. With the mindset to create the best result for all.
I am also the petty cash custodian for the Monroe County employees at the zoo, assist in our Brightly work order system including dispatching work orders to proper maintenance mechanic to complete job requested, prioritizing high to low needs. Inventory of products at our labor center is also a task I perform monthly, reporting numbers back to supervisor. Apparel is also under my purview. I track each employees apparel needs, place orders, retrieve orders and ensure items go to proper staff. I am responsible for approving 8-15 employees payroll bi-weekly In order for them to receive pay.
