My name is Jocelyn Velazquez, and I'm 22 years old. I'm currently a student at East West University, and I’m in my senior year of college, majoring in Business Administration. I attend school Monday through Thursday, and I am currently looking for a part-time job. I am available to work any day after school, and on Friday through Sunday, I am available at any time since I do not have classes on those days.
I am nice, kind, helpful, and responsible, and I genuinely enjoy working. I see work as a motivation in life and something productive to do, and I like staying active throughout the day. Most of my experience has been in guest services, which I believe is an important skill to have. I enjoy helping people with questions or concerns, and I am glad that I can make someone’s day just by assisting them. I am thankful for every job I have had because I have learned something new from each one, and every position has been a unique experience and journey.
At Five Below, I worked either on the sales floor or at the front register. At the front, I helped customers check out. On the sales floor, I organized and stocked products, cleaned and straightened up the store, and made sure everything was in its proper place. I also assisted customers by helping them find products and informing them about prices, while ensuring the store looked neat and organized.
At Six Flags, I worked in Guest Relations and was assigned to different locations each day. I assisted guests with questions regarding the theme park and their season passes. I also sold tickets and season passes, provided information about pricing and upcoming deals, and helped guests understand their options. At times, I worked outside scanning guests’ tickets or season passes. Overall, my role focused on assisting guests and providing friendly customer service.
At Central, I took care of the dogs by supervising them and making sure they behaved and did not get into fights with other dogs. I played with them and provided food and water. After playtime was over, we placed the dogs in their crates, and when the owners arrived, we returned their dogs and updated them on how their pets behaved that day. Once all the dogs had left, we cleaned the crates, cleaned the play area, and made sure everything was set and ready for the next day.
At LA Fitness, I worked as a receptionist where I greeted members to make them feel welcomed when they walked in. I ensured that members checked in properly and answered guests’ questions regarding the membership and the gym. I also made calls to members to inform them about their payment status and answered incoming phone calls.
The gym also had an on-site daycare, where I cared for children while their parents worked out. I supervised the children, ensured their safety, organized activities, and maintained a clean and positive environment in the daycare.
My position at People’s Choice was in redemption, where I assisted customers with their tickets. I scanned the tickets they earned, helped them exchange tickets for prizes of their choice, explained prize options, and ensured they were aware of their remaining ticket balance while providing friendly customer service to the families.
