I left the car business for about 5 years to pursue a career in outside sales. My first experience was with a local flooring distributor. I had a territory that I was responsible for building and maintaining. I learned how to create a working schedule to include current and prospective clients. I had to meet and exceed corporate provided goals for sales and new product roll outs. I trained retail store personnel to know my products and key selling features. I eventually decidedly to re join the Automotive sales industry.

Responsible for inspections of off lease and wholesale units for wear and tear, structural damage, previous repair and manufacture standards. Verifying standard equipment is present and in good working order. Verifying the vehicle meets mechanical standards. Creating a good working relationship with dealership personnel to provide a professional and thorough process.

This was a 1099 Contractor position, inspecting off lease vehicles the same as we do now. This portion of the company was bought by Autovin / KAR Global.

I worked in Franchise dealerships selling / leasing new and used vehicles. This was my first job after departing the USAF. I quickly learned the importance of return and referall sales through relationship building and follow up. I was in Automotive Sales for over 20 years.

I joined the USAF right out of High School. My first assignment was on Oahu, Hawaii. Before leaving, I got married took my wife for a 3 year honeymoon. Being a young married couple, we matured quickly and grew to have a long loving / lasting relationship. I credit this experience for our marriage lasting almost 39 years. I was honorably discharged as a Sargent.
