I'm currently employed here at Winnsboro Medical Clinic. I first started out as a receptionist. I would check patients in for their appointments, verify their insurance and all patient information. I would answer the telephone and make patient appointments and collect payments of what the patients copay would be. I helped scan in documents to patient charts when needed as well.
Just recently I was moved upstairs to the billing department where I file claims to the patients insurance company, and post patient payments.
At NELPCO I started out as a front receptionist or clerk you may call it. I would answer the telephones, take payments on patients bills, be on call for a week at a time to report outages and such things. I also had to put in service orders to be completed by construction crews. I was then moved to the billing department to bill for a cycle, but that was for a short period of time.
Working at Caldwell Memorial Hospital I was an admission clerk. That job title required me to check in patients for their appointments or check them in as an admit to the hospital. I would have to verify their insurance and all patient information. Sometimes this job required me to take patients down to the hospital wing and get them checked into their room and get whatever they needed. I also helped answer telephones and made patients appointments for the clinic, lab or etc.
