STUDENT TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Pee Dee Elementary School

Conway, SC | Spring 2026 Student Teacher: Kindergarten

I truly enjoyed my time at Pee Dee Elementary school. This experience taught me the importance of differentiated learning, small-group instruction, collaborating with a team, developing strong parent relationships, and so much more. I had the opportunity to design and teach lesson plans, attend parent-teacher conferences, and IEP meetings. Additionally, I created assessments to gauge student retention and then adapted instruction. I was able to see and implement a wide variety of classroom management skills. One of my favorite experiences includes the Family Literacy Night that I attended to promote the Rise with Reading initiative. I enjoyed teaching Heggerty and found some of my own ways to increase student engagement. Upon completion of my student teaching I was offered a long-term sub placement in 1st grade. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity as I created many great relationships working with the 1st grade team.

Green Sea Floyds Elementary School

Green Sea, SC | Fall 2025 Clinical Student: Kindergarten

Green Sea Floyds Elementary made a huge impact on me as an educator. I was able to see how important a school community is. I loved participating in their "House Parties" and realized how effective teamwork transforms a learning environment. Throughout my time at Green Sea Floyds Elementary I taught four monitored lessons using guided instruction, inquiry-based learning, and small-group instruction. Additionally, I observed and practiced classroom management techniques to ensure a healthy learning environment. I will always hold a special place in my heart for Green Sea Floyds Elementary school.
