Work History

Line lead/production

Worthington Enterprises
Chilton

  • I started as a 3rd shift assembler on a manual and automation line making torches.
  • I learned everything about the lines very quickly.
  • After 6 months I went to the cylinder side of the company to help for a couple of months.
  • While there I ran a quality line inspecting cylinders out of the oven for any defects before painting.
  • I worked the test tank where I checked for any leaks and marked the bad cylinders for salvage.
  • I then worked salvage where I emptied, repainted, or replaced valves as needed.
  • After this I went to the packaging department.
  • Here I oversaw all the machines.
  • I worked with a capper machine, label machine, an EDL box maker and packer, a poly pro machine to put on handles, a wrap machine where the cylinder boxes were then wrapped, an inkjet machine for coding, and a Columbia palletising machine.
  • I was forklift certified and responsible for putting full pallets on the truck.
  • After two months on the cylinder side, I was offered a group lead position on the torch side that I accepted and started right away.
  • I did fire testing and problem solving for rejected torches, pad printing names on the torches, and filled and palletised the boxes of torches.
  • I learned the workings of our lines and became qualified for fault recovery.
  • I was trained in LOTO.
  • I troubleshooted issues and fixed them.
  • I also did the scheduling of the employees and cycle counting of the parts.
  • I made sure that safety was a focus and that quality was the best.
  • After a year I accepted a job on 1st shift as a line lead.
  • I ran the oxygen line.
  • I handled the fill machine, the conveyors, the test tank, the air relief machine, the capper, the label machine and packing and palletising.
  • I am currently doing this job.
