I started at Waterlefe as a backserver with no previous industry experience and was quickly promoted to a server, learning bartending skills simultaneously. Soon after I was mentored by the head server to be her replacement. For the past five seasons I have been proud to be a crucial part of an environment where quality staff are pleased to work and client expectations are consistently exceeded.
My managerial responsibilities and achievements include:
Training new staff, emphasizing client expectations and etiquette
Overseeing (and participating in) completion of sidework
Organizing and dividing floorplans for a la carte service
Developing floorplans to accommodate entertainment, maximum capacity events, intimate events, fine dining, banquets and more
Participating in weekly meetings with senior staff, discussing how to make improvements from previous seasons, improve synchronicity between FOH and BOH and respond to client feedback to increase overall satisfaction
Facilitating improved teamwork between staff in the bar and dining room with a focus on running events and dining service smoothly and in sync
Improving organization of various areas to improve efficiency during service
Editing POS system to improve ease of use
Writing and managing the schedule for all FOH staff
Maintaining open communication and an approachable demeanor with staff to best address their concerns / feedback
