Over the last 40 years, I have served the Fire and Emergency Medical Services community in south Alabama in multiple capacities. This includes acting as a firefighter for the cities of Saraland and Prichard, functioning as a EMT-I for various EMS services including Jim's Ambulance, Newman's Ambulance, Fairhope Ambulance, Lifestar Ambulance, Medstar EMS, and Mobile County EMS, as well as performing various safety and rescue roles in the industrial setting. I have had the honor to be placed in multiple leadership roles throughout my tenure including that of a FTO as well as a Supervisor and have acted as a swing driver and as a captain in the Fire Service. I have been fortunate to have attended numerous courses and credentialing classes in multiple aspects of our profession, including course work at The National Fire Academy, The Alabama Fire College, and The University of South Alabama. Since 1983, I have always had a firm belief and dedication in the honor, tradition, and importance of our profession and still hold these values close even today. It is my goal to continue to recruit, retain, train, mentor, and manage the EMS providers of the present times by bringing the lessons learned from the past into today's setting while consistently adapting and embracing the rapid clinical growth of EMS.
