Work History

Data entry and customer service

BSP Transportation
10.2019 - 06.2025
  • Moving from manufacturing facilities to an office setting was quite a change though I welcomed the ability to learn as much as possible about the transportation field. Each shift I handled incoming calls, daily interaction with 40+ drivers, data entry, reports, filing, work with several different computers, and assisted dispatch with any additional work they may need done. I handled all the inbound paperwork and troubleshot any problems for the drivers or customers. I have learned how to maneuver through their computer system to ensure each call that comes in or question asked of me can be answered fully and professionally. I keep a positive outlook and look for ways to help the company move forward as well as my coworkers and always strive to improve my time on the keyboard. Part of my job was to input orders to pickup freight at specific locations for specific brokers, these were sent both over the phone and electronically. Additionally I worked a multi-line phone system and handled calls all through the day.

Machine operator

Sig Sauer
07.2018 - 10.2019
  • Operating Makino machines and producing high quality parts for a firearms manufacturer, I took great pride in producing product that was well within tolerance and easily passed through Quality Control. Reading blueprints, a CMM report, and being responsible for gauging every 5th part I made adjustments where necessary. Continuously making improvements on my time, my process, and kept up with my 5S, I work well within a team as well as excelling working alone. Gauging in this facility included plug and whistle gauges, calipers, digital height gauges, micrometers, indicators, and a CMM in quality control.

Cell associate/single action

Ruger Firearms
10.2017 - 07.2018
  • The single action line helped me gain experience building revolvers, working in the range test firing, furthering my machining experience, and exceeding in fine polishing. Learning each part that goes into building a revolver helps to understand the overall functionality and importance of gauging and tolerances.

Team Lead/Mini 14

Ruger Firearms
02.2016 - 10.2017
  • Being the sole lead on nights for the Mini-14 line granted me the opportunity to work on everything including E-time/Workday and daily Kaizens. I worked with my team both in the line and out, making sure all parts were needed for the nights production from all parts of the company in different departments. Troubleshooting and overcoming obstacles was not uncommon and handled with a level head and a calm disposition.

Machinist/10-22 barrels

Ruger Firearms
12.2012 - 02.2016
  • Machining 10/22 barrels using up to three Okuma machines I was able to meet the hourly number as well as keep the parts tightly in tolerance and inspect each one for flaws and burrs. Complete changeovers including program changes, touching off, and tool changes all of which happened several times each night. Being back-up team lead I was flexible enough to cover for people that were out on the turning lathe machines, or further down the line, and make the call to determine which barrels to run if we needed to vary from the production list for any reason.

Machinist

TRW Automotive
04.2009 - 11.2012
  • Super cells throughout the facility, I machined in the valve housing department. Raw parts were taken from a large box on a skid and machined two at a time through Mori-Seiki, Okuma, and Daewoo machines. I then inspected, deburred, and inspected again before being sent to heat treat. Tool changes, program changes, and touching off were part of the nightly routine as several models were run per shift.
