I spent my time in high school and my first summer back from college working at the Penfield store as a cashier, getting a feel for the company and meeting amazing people. This is where my passion for the company started to really spark, and I was blessed to be asked to apply for the internship. My customer service skills and handling of orders has allowed me to be more comfortable in my role as an intern, as incredible customer service is a major part of what makes this company thrive and stand-out against competitors.

Store Operations Management Intern

  • Two summers in the internship, with different summer stores (Holt Rd & East Ave) and a home store (Penfield Road)
  • First summer had heavy focus on the front end operations and the perishable department of produce
  • Second summer consisted of service team leader rotations
  • Role included shadowing management throughout the store and providing incredible customer service daily
  • Increased product knowledge
  • Ordering and merchandising using store systems to guide such as CAO, WISE, MORIS
  • Running the schedule for the front-end cashiers, while keeping in an eye on UPLH, and as well as getting tills counted for the accounting office
