As Operations Manager at a leading roofing company, I was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of both residential and commercial roofing projects. I directed project scheduling, resource allocation, and logistics to ensure timely and efficient project completion. My role involved coordinating with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to maintain clear communication and ensure quality standards were met. I managed a team of roofing professionals, providing leadership, training, and performance oversight to ensure client and company needs were met in both the insurance claims and retail sides of roofing. Performed inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on commercial roofing systems including TPO, EPDM, and modified bitumen. Identified and resolved leaks and system failures, ensuring long-term roof performance. Communicated findings to clients and provided recommendations for repairs or replacement. Maintained a strong focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Working on a residential install crew, I started as a helper performing tasks such as tear-off, clean-up, and feeding shingles. However I quickly purchased all necessary tools and became a shingle installer, performing all tasks from prep, to install, and final touches like trim work and flashings.

This was my first job in the roofing industry. I came in with no knowledge of the industry starting as a laborer performing physical tasks of tear-off, debris haul-off, transporting materials, and more. In the winter months i attended the NRCA roofing school and became familiar with OSHA requirements, and installation practices. By the time i left i was a commercial installer on all roof systems, as well as the hot kettle operator for my company certified in heat-welding, and torch down!
