I taught our gifted kindergarten program SOAR
for 40 consecutive years.
It was a program designed to Stimulate Over Achievers through Reading.
I fostered creativity and motivated my students
daily .
I was the lead teacher for the program and mentored many colleagues on strategies and implementation on differentiating instruction in order to help our students achieve their goals and remain in the program.
I immensely enjoyed my teaching career and remained in my home school for 40 years keeping our SOAR program thriving..
Was nominated for The Walt Disney teacher award.
Appeared in The Who’s Who Among American Teachers in three separate editions.
Honored at a ceremony at The Langston Hughes School to celebrate my 40 years of teaching in the building.
