I've always thought you need to play by your strengths and if you're lucky enough to know them, you should pursue them. I've worked in many roles but I have full confidence in saying I thrive when it comes to talking to people.
In my previous sales role, I spent the majority of the day on the phone with business owners. Some strangers via cold call and others being recurring customers. Building a personal relationship with these business owners proved to be the best method to earn and retain their business. These relationships helped me scale to a consistent $100,000 per month average.
I found it important to take detailed notes at the end of every conversation I had on the phone. It could be something as simple as their dog's name to their preference when it comes to product. I had to make data analysis and goal setting a priority in order to continue to grow my customer base.
Filling the sales pipeline was made possible via social media, physical catalogs, email, and of course cold call. I worked closely with colleagues to strategize how we can continue to bring in new customers while still maintaining a good relationship with existing ones.
