• I am writing to inquire about your Paraeducator position at Education for Change for the 25/26 school year. Over the past several years, I have worked extensively with students across general and special education classrooms, from PreK through 12th grade. I have developed a deep appreciation of the importance this role serves to the functioning of an educational institution. Recently, I have served as an on-call substitute teacher for the Inyo County Office of Education, where I worked closely with students requiring one on one assistance due to behavioral and academic needs. I am to approach each classroom and student with equity, compassion, and a focus on fostering a safe and respectful learning environment.
• In addition to my work in educational settings, I have served as a certified Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor for the past four years. This work has deepened my skill set in proper crisis de-escalation techniques, quick thinking, and deep compassion for the needs of others—qualities I regularly draw upon when supporting students. I am very comfortable speaking to people individually or in a presentation format, working through assignments individually, and making sure my student’s environment is safe and open for them to interact with.
