Lead paint testing uses X-ray fluorescence (XRF), the state-of-the-art and HUD-specified method for identifying lead-based paint in housing. Writing specific report that explains results to client.
Analyzes all layers of wallboard/joint compounds, plasters, and roofing samples as required by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP). EPA and OSHA have specific reporting requirements. If clients do not specify testing standards a comment specifying the layer that asbestos was identified.
Air sampling in order to see what spores have become airborne and possible hazard. Surface sample are also taken, usually with either a cotton swab or tape lift, a microscope slide with a sticky surface. This sample can be taken from a suspect mold area to assess types and quantities of mold or from flat surfaces to identify spores that have settled out of the air.
