Summary

Passionate mining engineering graduate from New Mexico Tech, originally from Chile with a multicultural upbringing in Australia and the U.S. Inspired by my father's career as a geophysicist, I have been dedicated to pursuing a career in mining from an early age. With hands-on experience in database management and ArcGIS at the Bureau of Geology, I am now advancing my expertise through a master's degree in mining engineering. Currently contributing to the NIOSH project, I am focused on improving safety protocols in mining operations. My goal is to make a meaningful impact on the industry's safety standards and contribute to the well-being of miners worldwide. I also am a hardworking and passionate job seeker with strong organizational skills eager to secure entry-level mining engineer position. Ready to help team achieve company goals.

08.2024 - Current
  • Participated actively in regular meetings with fellow researchers to discuss project updates, challenges faced, and lessons learned during ongoing activities.
  • Utilized statistical software for data analysis, generating accurate insights into complex datasets.
  • Monitored project timelines, ensuring timely completion of tasks while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Contributed to the publication of research articles in peer-reviewed journals, showcasing expertise in various topics.
  • Working on the NIOSH project at New Mexico Tech, developing a simulation where sensors within a mine monitor toxic gas levels and temperature, transmitting this data to the command center. The Python code then analyzes the sensor data to generate both primary and alternative paths for miners in case of an emergency. The program evaluates each node's safety, guiding miners to the safest route to the exit. Additionally, visual indicators, such as lights, will assist the miners in navigating the safest path to ensure a secure evacuation.
