  • Train Medical Doctors and medical students to dominate step 1 USMLE exams for allopathic (MD) and Osteopathic (DO) programs
  • This include the intense and rigorous practice drills in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, Cardiology, Gastrointestinal system, Heme Oncology, Immunology, Endocrinology, Musculoskeletal system, Dermatology, Rheumatology, Neurology and Special Senses, Respiratory, Reproductive System, Renal System and Psychiatry
  • Train Dental students in the basic sciences as mentioned above
  • Train Pre - Medical students
  • Write drill questions, certain aspects of the step 1 workbook for each program
  • Academic assessments of students
  • Academic motivational counseling to rebuild students' confidence levels in a way that will encourage an attitude of service with an excellent level of educational knowledge
  • Personal coaching was our approach to ensure that each student was treated individually

  • Apart from the gross anatomy and microscopy of histology, we also trained students to read images generated with ultrasonography, Cat scans and magnetic resonance imaging

  • Trained approximately 50 Medical Students and Doctors per semester for 2.5 years
  • This course is taught under the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines, for treatment of adult victims with cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies also metabolic and toxicological emergencies
  • Benefits of this training was improved critical thinking and decision making strategies
  • We also reinforced EKG recognition skills and drug treatment knowledge

  • Approximately 160 students per semester for the same period were trained by the team I worked with
  • Reinforcing the understanding of the importance of early Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation, relieving Choking, using an AED and the role of each link in the chain of survival

  • Specific to airway management and the use of different video scoping techniques needed for complex airway intubation

  • Our teams were headed by the attending of the service we worked under
  • Rotations were every month to the different subspecialties in Internal Medicine
  • My other responsibilities included outpatient clinic once a week, teaching medical students history taking and physical examination
  • Also I supervised medical interns.

  • Medical Internship September 2005 - December 2006
  • I performed medical procedures like peritoneal dialysis placement and Chest tube placement, lumbar punctures and thoracocenthesis
  • Medical documentation including reading Xrays and EKGs and other images before the radiologist had the time to make the official reports which could take up to 2-3 days depending on the patient loads
  • There was supervised management of patients and phlebotomy
  • Senior House Officer January 2007 - December 2008
  • Managed wards under the leadership of the Attending in charge of the ward
  • The ward had up to 40 patients on a regular day however often times would swell past this
  • We would also manage patients on the surgical wards with medical and neurological consults that were admitted on our admitting nights
  • As Senior House Officer, I rotated in the Community Health and Psychiatry department Jan 2008 - Dec 2008
  • In this same period there were three epidemics in Jamaica
  • With the leadership of the public health department our department on the community level was able to successfully control the Mosquito borne diseases of malaria and dengue fever
  • There was also an outbreak of viral conjunctivitis that affected the labor force and school attendance at that time
  • This too was eradicated with much community education, health promotion and prevention measures
  • Resident of Internal Medicine on the Neurology Service Jan 2009 - June 2011
  • Managed an internal medicine ward and all neurology patients in the hospital
  • Served and worked in outpatient clinics weekly
  • Also supervised Senior house officers, medical interns and taught medical students.

I sang with a group in grenada that made an album of original worship songs at Living Word World outreach church.


I am a motivational speaker for a small group of families that meet every friday in Overland Park. I also do life coaching to students and other individuals.


I am training for a marathon and have not gotten the time to actually do the marathon yet. this is on my bucket list.
