Affiliations

  • I have participated in Penn State's THON organization for three years, beginning in the fall of 2022. THON is a student-run philanthropy committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. Our mission is to provide emotional and financial support, spread awareness and ensure funding for critical research, all in pursuit of a cure. THON's mission culminates every year in February in a 46 hour dance marathon whose benefits go to the cause.
  • Each of the past three years I have been a member of a THON Opperaions committee. Our job is to facilitate the functionality of the dance marathon itself, i.e. setting the event up and tearing it down, collecting trash, sweeping and mopping throughout, cleaning bathrooms, etc.
  • THON has easily been my most valuable experience at Penn State. It has taught me the value of giving back to those who need it while being part of a team. I have made friends for life while being part of a great cause, and I will miss it dearly when I am done with college. I fully intend to seek out opportunities to get involved in programs like THON wherever I may find them in the future.
