• Teaching World History and US History I and II,
• Teaching English 9 - 11 through cross-curricular teaching, or instruction that intentionally applies multiple academic disciplines simultaneously.
• Engaging in ways to teach students transferable problem-solving skills, give real-world meaning to school assignments, and increase engagement and rigor.
• Employed variety of teaching strategies and instructional techniques to meet different aptitudes and interests of students

• Successfully completed full edTPA, including: Planning for Instruction and Assessment; Instructing and Engaging Students in Learning; Assessing Student Learning.
• Instructed 104 high school students in Early and Modern American History principles, concepts and in-depth subject matter
• Aligned instructional approaches with development levels of students to enhance individual learning, especially for those with IEPs (over 50%)
• Enhanced student learning by introducing more higher-level thinking activities and optimizing wide range of instructional approaches and innovative classroom practices including anticipatory sets, group presentations, debates, and guest speakers

• Instructed classes in Global Studies course for 10th through 12th grades for three months, managing classroom assignments, student needs, tutorials and record keeping
• Led students in units covering Reformation, Scientific Revolution and Enlightenment, European Colonization and Age of Revolutions. Developed instructional aids for classroom use and encouraged student participation
• Facilitated enriching classroom discussions and debates; Enhanced student understanding and skill with class presentations and document-based questions

• Oversaw 15 students in various subjects in classroom and common areas to monitor, enforce policies and support lead teacher. Maintained attendance and performance records through Aspen
• Performed special tasks such as German and Spanish language assistance/facilitating in conversational groups and to help students with special needs learn and grow. Maintained close communication with students' counselors and case workers
• Supported student learning objectives and extra-curricular activities through personalized and small group assistance, including assisting a non-verbal freshman with autism in track and field practice and meets

• Maintained day-to-day classroom management and discipline to promote learning initiatives as a full-time substitute in several high schools throughout Hunterdon and Somerset counties, including Hunterdon Central, North Hunterdon, Voorhees and Ridge
• Cultivated professional relationships with lead teachers in classes
• Repeatedly requested as substitute teacher for World Languages and Social Studies/History classrooms by teachers based on excellent content knowledge, past referrals and trusted performance

(Due to a decrease in popularity of Russian language study caused by new, much stricter travel restrictions in Russia and Ukraine, funding cuts and lower enrollment, I took this job as a temporary means of income. The school, mentioned below, would eventually close temporarily, and re-open in Spokane, WA several years later. Although not directly related to education, Martin Brower was an education of sorts and gave me opportunities to collaborate with others from diverse backgrounds to achieve productivity and quality goals. )

• Arranged for pick-up by carriers specified on customer purchase orders determined at final inspection through review of shipping instructions.
• Prepared orders for shipment, marking materials with identifying information and updating logs of all shipments outgoing and incoming.

• Developed personal, purpose-built teaching materials, including writing exercises, media presentations and speaking activities
• Created course curriculum with Russian and Ukrainian nationals to ensure objectives were culturally responsive and relevant
• Collaborated on and implemented innovative pedagogical initiatives that focused on student-first, hands-on and experiential learning to foster Russian language proficiency, and knowledge of history and culture
• Coordinated and co-led multiple trips to Ukraine and Russia for the purpose of research, enrichment and alumni follow-up
