- For a little over a year, I had been employed with Palmetto Tennis Center, a city-run facility in which people could come and play pickleball or tennis on clay or hard courts. This job was perfect for me because it gave me the opportunity to be active while meeting and socializing with people I know, as well as those I do not know, and I got to meet and assist them in any way I could. Some of my tasks included: manning the floor, attending the front desk, checking people out at the register, scheduling tennis events, signing people up for tennis lessons, creating a daily schedule, monitoring court conditions (making sure of things like trash, balls left on the court, blowing leaves, and sand off the court, etc.), entering people in and out of our system, and doing whatever other tasks my boss asked of me. I really do enjoy this job and love the social aspect of the job, and getting to interact with people all day. I think getting early work experience like this is good before you get a full-time job, so you can get comfortable with social interactions, make connections, and learn to give your discipline and responsibilities, most of all.

- Working at Ace Hardware was my first job, and I had a lovely experience working there and getting familiar with the workforce, while working alongside amazing people was truly a blessing. My position at Simpsons Ace Hardware was to help load heavy objects and equipment into people's cars, deliver online orders, and find that order in the warehouse. If people came to pick up their orders at the store, I would locate the purchase in the warehouse and deliver it to them at their car. I would also clean up around the store in whatever aspect they needed me to do, assemble equipment and displays, and maintain the garden shop in whatever aspect. I loved the customer service aspect of the job because I love being social and interacting with people all the time. I also loved the idea of making early connections in the workforce with various people that I would meet and maybe get lunch with later to talk more about what they do.
