My roles were wide and varied and included:

  • Snow shop manager (winter seasons) and bike mechanic.
  • Customer facing sales and service predominantly in our snow and bike divisions but also in footwear, apparel, and rentals increasing our sales to profitable levels.
  • Assistant to Director of Snow Services, attending to maintenance and required safety measures of our ski and snowboard rental fleet of 40,000 units.
  • Assistant to Director of Facilities, assisting with buildout of seven new stores and helping with our propane exchange program.
  • Occasionally assisting our Logistics Manger with inter store inventory fulfillment.
  • Creating training and mentoring programs for up and coming generation of new leaders.

  • Overseeing day-to-day operations of a school with eleven studios, more than 3,000 students and sixteen Head Instructors and thirty to forty assistant instructors.
  • Taught at least two classes (primarily Taekwondo but also Judo, Aikido, and Jeet Kune Do) at every studio every week.
  • Directed our marketing program both within house as well as directly with community.
  • Recruited Head Instructors from three continents.
  • Revamped the training curriculum for the USOC in both Taekwondo and Judo.
  • Coached three Olympic medalists to the Olympics in Beijing and London.

  • Created one of three initial fulfillment centers for B&N's burgeoning ecommerce platform.
  • Assisted our buying staff in New York with inventory selections for local authors and local travel books.
