As a mother and a longtime server and bartender, I have developed strong interpersonal, time-management, and multitasking skills that translate well to the role of an Occupational Therapy Assistant. Balancing the responsibilities of motherhood has strengthened my patience, empathy, and ability to remain calm under pressure. Working in fast-paced service environments has taught me how to quickly build rapport with people from all backgrounds, communicate effectively, and adapt to changing situations—skills that are essential when working with patients and healthcare teams. These experiences have shaped my desire to help others in a meaningful, hands-on way. I am motivated by roles that allow me to support individuals during challenging moments and help them regain confidence and independence. The combination of my life experience, work ethic, and genuine compassion makes me a strong candidate for the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.
