Dynamic professional with extensive experience in patient scheduling and electronic health records at Tampa General Hospital. Proven ability to provide compassionate care and utilize trauma-informed communication. Adept at navigating HIPAA compliance and fostering cultural sensitivity, I am eager to leverage my skills to support children in need.
While working full time at Tampa General Hospital, I discovered a desire to become a foster parent. I quickly became licensed. My first placement was a sibling group with a child who had medical needs. I became a Medical foster parent in order to keep the children together. I then received the necessary training to become therapuetic foster home. I took care of several children during those 4 years. In 2021, as children aged out, or were reunified, my heart drew me in another direction. I became a foster parent for Immigrant Children from the Border of Mexico. I cared for approximately 25 children during that year. Children from Mexico, Honduras, Venezuela, El Salvador and even Haiti found a loving home while they were with me. the program abruptly ended, and I resumed fostering traditional children. I have since adopted 2 children from foster care.
I am looking for another type of employment than I currently have. Although I have worked for many years in the hospital setting, I am looking for something that is more of my passion. I love children and I understand the response that trauma has on them. I use trauma informed language when interacting with the children. I am fluent in google translate! I would very much like the opportunity to once again, follow my heart and work with these children.
