Responsible for the operations of the Adult Intensive Care Units, Stepdown Unit, Nephrology Unit, Dialysis for SE Michigan, Respiratory Department, IV Team, Admission and Discharge Unit. Currently covering Behavioral Health Unit.

• Responsible for the day to day operations of a 36 bed Intermediate Cardiovascular Interventional Step-down unit. I have over 60 members (RN’s, PCT’s, HUC’s) team delivering care to patients following Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, Cardiac Catheterization, Thoracotomy and other Peripheral Interventions.

• Worked alongside the Clinical Manager on a Cardiac Unit specializing in the care of CHF patients. I was responsible for all the unit operations on the day shift, maintained associate schedule and payroll. I was also highly involved with coaching and disciplining staff.

• Assisted in providing orientation and education services for all unit associates while maintaining direct patient care responsibilities. Acted as a mentor, role model and coach.
• Assisted with scheduling of staff at mandatory education sessions and annual unit competencies.

• Developed, coordinated and maintained training and education for all staff in accordance with guidelines and regulations.
• Developed the Nurse Aide Training program (Train the Trainer) and assisted in recruiting, hiring, training the associates and assisting them in the entire certification process.
• Assisted in the development of policies, programs and procedures.
• Acted as the Infection Control Coordinator.

• Responsible for a 35 bed nursing unit. Maintained staffing levels, supervised staff (RN’s, LPN’s, CNA’s)
• Maintained regulatory compliance practices.
• Monitored all elements of nursing care on the unit. Assisted in providing orientation and education services for all unit associates while maintaining direct patient care responsibilities. Acted as a mentor, role model and coach.

• Responsible for a 100 bed long term care nursing unit. Provided guidance and leadership to all healthcare staff.

• Responsible for the care of acutely ill patients in a hospital setting. Rotated in the Medical-Surgical Ward, ICU, Labor and Delivery/Postpartum.
