• December 2022 - St. Tammany Parish Hospital Labor and Delivery Unit: Completed a 60-hour rotation. Recorded perinatal vital signs and head-to-toe assessments. Partnered with RN to prepare and assist with the birth of babies. Shadowed the Nursery Nurse and administered required upon-birth medications and measurements of the newborn. Monitored fetal monitor for changes. Charted all results.
• November 2022 - Children's Hospital - Pre/Post Surgical - Operating Room: Completed a 12-hour rotation. Performed pre-surgical workups, and post-surgical care including updating family members on progress.
• November 2022 - Ochsner Medical Center-Main Campus-Pediatric Unit: Completed a 24-hour rotation. Provided atraumatic care to pediatric patients. Assessed patients according to pediatric guidelines. Administered medications via PICC lines and performed care of lines with each administration. Comforted patients whose parents were not available.
• August 2022- September 2022 - Ochsner Medical Center-Main Campus-Post-Surgical Unit: Completed a 60-hour rotation. Safely provided care to five patients each day. Performed urinary catheterizations, purwick care, rectal tube care, started IVs, focused assessments, vital signs, administered medications including IV push medications, assisted Charge Nurse to administer blood products, performed wound care, alerted doctors to abnormal labs, coordinated with case management and pharmacy regarding patient discharge plans and medications. Chosen to assume the role of Charge Nurse for a day
• January 2022-May 2022 - UMC-Cardiac Telemetry Unit: Completed a 120-hour rotation. Safely provided routine patient care to patients on the unit. Care included focused assessments, vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, accu-checks, administering medications orally and via peg tube, hanging IV fluids, and flushing IV lines. Analyzed labs as they reflected the patient's admitting diagnosis and reported abnormal labs to the doctor. Learned numerous disease processes and engaged with nurses to shadow and effectively learn to treat patients.
• August 2021-December 2021 - UMC-Observation Unit: Completed a 70-hour rotation. Shadowed nurses to learn bedside manners and patient safety. Performed duties including administering medications, completing head-to-toe assessments, and charting in a timely manner.
