I follow up on all Medicaid payers. Medicaid, Oklahoma Complete Health, AETNA Better Health and Humana Healthy Horizons. Using their websites and also calling to find out why claims paid short or denied. Navigating through Epic, merging claims, correcting patients insurance coverages in Epic. doing whatever needs to be done to get the claims paid.

  • I get our daily deposits from our bank account and pull all remits from that days deposit and separate government and non-government payments. Then I pull all deposits from our lockbox. The remits I pull then get posted to accounts and adjusted off accordingly. We have 2 systems that I am working out of right now. (our new system went live Jan 1st). I have 2 spreadsheets at the time that I have to keep up with and balance daily with what is posted in our systems what was deposited that day.

I enter all of the anesthesia charges, by day, for the main hospital, Presbyterian Hospital, OB, the Surgery Center and Children's Hospital, into IDX Billing and balance all batches. I make sure certain admitting details are correct, such as, insurance provider, room #, etc. I then moved that day over to GECB Web. Balances batches by comparing batch proofs to source documents and hash totals

  • Worked in the front office of the Central Business Office helping walk in patients with their accounts. My main responsibility was the Financial Assistance Program. Collected patients income information. Such as tax forms, SSI letters or VA Benefit Letters. I organized the information for my director and then adjusted off the accounts accordingly. I also handled all of the supplies for a large office.
  • My second position was Follow Up Rep. I had to review accounts and contact insurance companies to find out why claims were paid short or denied. I also billed and collected on Medicaid claims.
  • The last position I had was working the MVA (motor vehicle accident) claims. I worked with attorneys’ offices and insurance companies to help get claims paid.
