I started working as a patient care technician when I was 19 years old. And I have worked as a tech for almost 7 years now. As a tech I get the opportunity to be hands on with patients and serve them in any possible situation. I get to practice my communication skills everyday by meeting and talking with strangers and caring for them while they are in the hospital. My years as a patient care tech have taught me how to work hard and keep my head straight while in stressful situations. I big part of working as a tech is charting. We use computers all day long. We also communicate to managers and coworkers through Microsoft teams. In a way, I consider working as a tech is a lot like customer service. I am there to help and don't leave without all questions answered and all problems addressed.
