Naval Munitions Command, 01/01/22, 12/31/25, Serve as the official liaison between the Commanding Officer (CO) and Navy families., Relay accurate, up-to-date command information to families while maintaining confidentiality., Communicate family concerns, trends, or issues to the CO for situational awareness., Assist family members in navigating military life by providing information, referrals, and resources., Offer guidance on services related to housing, medical care, deployment readiness, and crisis support., Provide emotional support, especially during deployments, emergencies, or personal hardship., Maintain knowledge of Navy and community resources (e.g., Fleet and Family Support Center, Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, Red Cross)., Refer families to appropriate agencies or professionals for assistance., Ensure families are aware of available support programs and how to access them., Uphold strict confidentiality in all communications, except in cases involving threats to safety, child abuse, domestic violence, or other reportable incidents., Maintain professionalism and neutrality., Support family readiness by distributing information before, during, and after deployments or emergencies., Assist in coordinating family communication during crisis situations., Participate in command emergency planning and training., Complete required Navy Ombudsman Basic Training (OBT) before officially serving., Stay informed about updates to Navy Family Readiness policies and resources., Provide regular reports to the Commanding Officer summarizing family issues, concerns, and trends., Maintain accurate records of contacts, referrals, and communications per command guidelines., Attend command events, briefings, and family readiness activities as the CO's representative., Promote command unity and family inclusion through events and communication channels.
