- Responsible for supervising and directing a team of 30 Transportation Security Officers during daily screening activities of passengers and their carry- on luggage.
- Monitors the flow of approximately 7,000 passengers a day through the screening checkpoint to facilitate orderly and efficient processing of passengers.
- Maintained certifications on all screening equipment, processes, and procedures while assuring the team I manage is successful in their abilities to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo on passengers.
- Oversee, mentor, coach, guide and counsel officers daily to adhere to SOP guidelines while using expertise to manage officers’ actions with the traveling public while preventing prohibited objects from being transported onto aircraft.
- Ensure the integrity and security of terminal entry points and exits; Interact with the public, giving directions and responding to inquiries.
- Engage officers on daily basis through daily shift briefings, training, or by observing performance of screening functions of TSOs.
- Assign duties of subordinate officers and assure that screening processes are intact.
- Review, document, and submit complete and accurate data daily to Terminal Management or TSA Coordination Center.
- Assign workloads and tasks, balancing most skilled officers within their capacities while adjusting daily tasking for officer lunches and breaks.
- Maintain equipment, perform calibrations, data capture and identify work order situations.
- Responsible for proofreading and editing incident reports, checkpoint incident reports for accuracy and completeness to ensure proper reporting procedures have been followed.
