- I started with the company on the Walmart side as a Cap 2 stocking associate. After only 5 months of working for the company I was promoted to Apparel team lead because my managers referred me for the position. I was a team lead from June of 2022 - February of 2023 due to having to transfer stores when I moved from Utah to Colorado. I would also end up being moved as a team lead on the front end. I helped manage all the cashier's and money on the frontend of the store which included task like getting money for associate if their registers ran out, printing the daily reports from the registers, taking all money from the register's and accurately dropping that money into the safe/money Recycler. After a while on the front end I was asked to move back to Cap 2 stocking as a team lead. I would oversee that all my associates were completing task that needed to be done which included: unloading merchandise from the truck, stocking merchandise, accurately accounting for all merchandise in the back of the whole store, accurately pulling all merchandise that needed to be stocked to the sales floor, accurately labeling and accounting for all overstock merchandise in the backroom. I also handled attendance, breaks, and disciplinary actions for my associates. If these things were not done, or I was lacking the staff to do them, I would do them myself as to make sure all assigned task were compiled. In 2023 I transferred from Walmart to Sam's Club due to my move from Utah to Colorado and was a fuel station attendant. In September of 2023 I was promoted to Club Pick up team lead. I would oversee that the schedules for my associates were correct. I would also check CPU metrics daily to makes sure were were hitting the targets that company had made for us. Another big part of this position was offering premium member service and helping solve members problems with order with empathy, hast, and accuracy. Then in December I was promoted to the Sales and Training Manager position. In the STM position allowed me to meet a lot of new people, and form a lot of new connections. It was very exciting what this company allowed me to achieve in this role. I am now currently the PM merchandising manager of my club. I have trained and supervised merchandising team members in best practices, improving overall performance. Continually communicate our sales and metrics regarding what our top selling items are, and also what our top shrink items are. I make sure to teach and train my team on how important inventory management is and ways to stay on top of knowing and owning our inventory. We also work together to merchandise displays that will promote sales, and also executing planograms to ensure our areas of responsibility are merchandised in a way that members are able to easily shop them and also so that the layout is aesthetically pleasing to our members. I have also spent time with the team reviewing the surveys that members are leaving about our areas if responsibility and also how they are rating our member service and likelihood to recommend. I am so happy to have been able to grow in this role and in this company. I have experienced and accomplished many things being a part of the Walmart family and I plan to continue to grow and learn in the company.
