  • Keeping our register clean is vital, we level the fridges, chips, and candies when business is slow or when we close

  • As front-end assistants, we helped the cashiers. We would load the items on the register, and then pack them in a cart. Go-backs were a top priority when we closed, so we would take carts at a time, filled with items needing to be returned to their shelves. I was lucky enough to be able to be a self-checkout cashier when needed, and I would hop on and be there for however long they needed during the rushes we had. At the end of the shift, we would clean the front end (all the registers and self-checkouts) by sweeping and mopping. I learned plenty of skills, enhancing my customer service, customer support abilities, and issue resolution skills in a more professional manner.

  • As volunteer staff at the Miami Zoo, I would help with renting and returning the bikes. We would give the customers a form to fill out, then go get the bikes based on their family size, with a key. When families were done, they would return the bikes to us with the keys, and we would return them with the rest of the bikes.
