I’m a driven and dedicated partner through and through. I leveraged my wine tasting expertise and exceptional customer service skills at H-E-B to significantly enhance the Beer & Wine department's offerings. I’m still a student of wine as I’ve been enrolled and learning through Gallo University. With my experience collaborating with vendors and leadership, I have successfully curated a high-marginal mindset to drive my department in the positive direction financially, demonstrating my ability to meet and exceed my top store leadership and managerial expectations.
As my first job, I worked at Altitude Trampoline Park as a lead court monitor. I essentially supervised and rotated the other court monitors to other stations and helped in covering their breaks and lunches on the trampoline section of the park.
I worked as a deliveries associate at Home Depot which essentially required me to work as an order puller of online orders that included lumber, garden items, furtniture, appliances, etc. I did this for about a year until taking my talents to HEB.
I’ve been at HEB for 4 years now. I started in the front end as a checker before quickly moving into a lead position. I’ve been cross trained around the store in curbside, business center and bookkeeping as well. I’ve now been in my current position as a Beer & Wine Specialist for about 2 years now. I’ve found my niche here. I hand sell wine, work with numerous vendors to bring in product for our shelf life and for display purposes. I’m in charge of controlling inventory and making sure we have high marginal wines and beer on display. I bring in items by following promotions, marginal gross profit, and items that my customer base will enjoy. Beer & Wine is a very people orientated department through HEB as it requires you to talk and plan with brand ambassadors, sales people, vendors, merchandisers, coworkers and top store leadership. The position also encourages you to learn about wine and beer that we sell so that we will have better knowledge in helping our customers find what they are looking for.
