  • I started off with custodial work before going into sales and becoming general manager at this establishment. I Attracted a thriving road cycling scene by establishing a thriving club that attracted over 50 regular members with our largest event boasting 150 local riders. I then steered the operations during its final stages, overseeing challenges such as the owner's retirement, the liquidating and then closure of the shop.

  • I had chosen to go to this shop as I had made friends with the owner through riding and our ideals of customer service lined up. I was then hired to run this newly established service department a year into the shop's existence. Over the prior year of my career, I took on a more service (mechanic) mindset and began to pursue this side of the industry. After introducing unified pricing, suspension service and a training program, I left this shop to try and start my own business.

  • Returned after I shut down my own business, I was focused on increasing my mechanical skill set, and refining my advanced skills such. I learned how to service mountain bike suspension increasing my skill set into a new sector. This was my preparation to transition to the corporate side of the industry focused no longer on shop building, but my individual skills as a mechanic.

  • A production Tech. is in charge of the repair side of the business. They are responsible for 80% of the total labor and the BOH. The design and layout of the service area as well as the training of the employees in repair procedures. I was able to gain industry training from top companies and bring suspension service to this shop. I selected Trek because of their hospitality focus, its hard to find in the bike industry, and they held the belief as did I that it is one of the foundations of business.
