I am career driven and goal oriented because I hope to become a veterinarian. Recently I've been able to enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, camping, and snowboarding which were new to me before college. Overall I like to try new things and work hard for what I want in my life.
I work in produce which involves running products to the floor and stocking shelves. Along with cutting fruit and opening the department occasionally.
Being on the floor and stocking the product allows me to help customers with their questions and experience at the store.
For a time my department manager was out therefore I had the opportunity to open the produce department. I picked up leadership skills, confidence, and respect among my coworkers.
I worked occasionally as a house cleaner with my mother because she would help out people in the community. It was a good experience because I was helping the community however time management was essential. Task organization because some rooms were bigger than others so they would take longer to clean. Overall house cleaning was rewarding at the end.
My uncle works in roofing so sometimes he would have houses that need all their shingles replaced so I would help. I was not on the roof but I was picking up the old shingles on the ground and throwing them onto the dump truck. After that, I would set the packets of shingles on a TranzPorter to carry them up. It was heavy work however it was a great experience. It showed me not all money is easy in the world.
During elementary school, I began helping around the library because I was involved with the Battle of the Books, a reading and comprehension competition. Here I gained organization skills, patience, and great relationships with my teachers.
In high school, I also helped around the library because I was in the beta club. Again my organization and patience skills came to use but I also learned time management because I had to deal with tougher classes along with finals. In the end I learned to enjoy my time here.
