Linda Cushing Memorial Scholarship
April 2019
The Linda Cushing Scholarship was initiated to honor the work of Ms. Linda Cushing, who helped organize AFT Local 6262. Her commitment to improve the conditions of part-time faculty has benefited teachers at College of the Canyons and at colleges across the nation. Dr. Michael B. Habib, Ph.D., my esteemed Anatomy and Physiology professor at the College of the Canyons, graciously nominated me for this prestigious award. The application process entailed composing an essay elucidating the essence of studenthood and delineating my aspirations to pursue a career in nursing. From a pool of four candidates, I am deeply humbled to have been chosen for this recognition, particularly by such an eminent and distinguished educator as Professor Habib.
