
As an experienced medical assistant and receptionist, I understand the importance of providing the best care for patients while also being on time and working as a team. Being bilingual in Spanish and English allows me to provide the best care possible to a wider range of the community. At Community Medical Services I would help patients check-in/check-out and verify their insurance before their visit. I also explained patient co-pays and deductibles. Any downtime was used confirming appointments or answering phone calls.
With Banner Health I would collect insurance and demographic information to ensure complete charts. This role also included patient communication in regards to appointments, patient concerns, and co-payments.
As a behavioral health medical assistant, I took a more physical role in patient care by getting vitals, drawing blood, and assisting with injections. I also had to review medications, and confirm both prior test results in patient charts, as well as their future appointments.
