  • Operated machinery to hoist captured fish onto boats.
  • Troubleshot and repaired equipment and kept fishing vessels clean to maintain machinery in good working order.
  • Leveraged nets of various sizes, fishing lines and traps to catch fish.
  • Sorted and cleaned fish and stored in refrigerated or ice-filled holds to prevent spoilage.
  • Conducted emergency drills and maintained lifeboats, signal flares and other survival equipment to prepare for inherent dangers.
  • Examined fish to check for defects or signs of ill health and released substandard catches back to water.
