Madison Dennis

I am a trustworthy and amiable person with prior front-facing and customer service experience. As a seasonal cashier at McDonald's, I managed customer transactions and delivered effective service in a hectic setting. For roughly ten months, I also worked as an assistant greeter, greeting visitors and making sure they had a good first impression. I'm looking to join a new team and contribute my excellent communication abilities, upbeat outlook, and customer-first philosophy.

I was an involved member of the student council at Pomona High School, where I collaborated closely with faculty and other students to organize school functions, encourage school spirit, and assist with student projects. I gained useful leadership, collaboration, and organizing skills from being a member of student council. I enjoyed representing my classmates and improving the school environment while assisting in the planning of events like spirit weeks, assemblies, and community service projects.

I was honored to be recognized for my commitment to community service and academic advancement with an award from the National College Resource Foundation (NCRF). This honor demonstrated my dedication to going to college and improving my school and neighborhood. Being honored by the NCRF strengthened my conviction that leadership, service, and education are crucial, and it inspired me to keep aiming for excellence.

Erma L. Walks Memorial Scholarship

Being chosen to receive the Erma L. Walks Memorial Scholarship, which honors students who exhibit leadership, academic promise, and a dedication to their community, made me very happy. Being awarded this scholarship was a significant honor that recognized my diligence and hard work during my time in high school. Additionally, it gave me important support for achieving my academic objectives and motivated me to keep aiming for academic and service excellence.

I supported classroom activities, organized supplies, and helped students with their assignments during my two years as a teacher's assistant at Pomona High School. I was able to obtain firsthand experience in a helpful, instructive setting while developing strong communication and organizational skills in this role. Being a trustworthy resource for the teacher and my peers was enjoyable, and the experience helped me better understand accountability, collaboration, and leadership in a classroom context.
