I have moved from West Virginia all the way to Portland at the age of 19. I’ve been enjoying life a lot here, there are a lot more opportunities than I’m used to. I have been working at Wendy’s since March, my position has put me in a lot of situations where I need to problem solve, deescalate, and work in a faster-pace environment than I’m used to. Working at Dairy Queen was one of my favorite jobs, and at the Fayetteville location in particular, I was able to have the experience of leadership. I did not have a formal manager title or training, but there were times that I had to step up for the good of the store, and they were good learning experiences. Working at Cherry Hill was quite a fun experience. If you didn’t know, it’s the company that does Easter bunny and Santa photos. It was a very versatile job experience-wise, I got to do photography for a job at 16 years old, and had a lot of good bonding with customers, and learned some sales tips as well. On top of my work experience, in the time that I have been in Portland, I recently completed a phlebotomist technician course. All I need to do is take my exam, and I will be ready to work.
