Retail Recycler of the year in the State of New Jersey 2018

Was nominated by the town of Franklin Lakes  for the retail Recycler of the year in the state of New Jersey when I was the Store Manager of the Franklin Lakes Stop & Shop. Was nominated by town due to my community involvement with recycling with in the town. Started a program with the Board of Education where every student would be tasked to bring in all of their plastic bags, dry cleaning plastics etc as town did not have a way to dispose of. Once a week the Board of Education would bring to the store, all the plastics collected at which time we would send back to warehouse. Warehouse would donate to the Trex Corporation who in turn made Trex building material from the plastics.

The school who collected the most plastic bags after half the school year would be awarded a bench made by the Trex Corporation with the schools name on it.

In addition, went to all community sponsored events such as shredding day, Franklin Lakes day etc and handed out reusable grocery bags prior to plastic bags being prohibited in the state of New Jersey
