Currently, I’m a high school graduate of May 2024. Since my freshman year I’ve been pursuing an automotive class.
I’ve learned the basics of multiple skills in the schools shop. My intention after high school is to proceed on to trade school and learn about the diesel industry and specialize in learning about all types of diesel motors. In my future I’d hope to work myself up to being a master technician or even more.
In my current work, I started working at H-E-B Plus, Kyle, Tx as a ‘curbie’ in Curbside. I’ve worked hard since the beginning by always showing up to work on time, and respected my partners and customers. By working hard I got noticed by the managers as well as the other partners and I got promoted to a personal shopper within 3 months. Working hard, I have learned to have good communication with other, always helping out, and staying late when needed.
However, before I started to work at H-E-B, I used to be an apprentice for my grandpa since I was 13 years old. I learned many of my skills with him like electricity, plumbing, landscaping, and construction.
Over the years I’ve continued to learned more and I started to appreciate what these opportunities have done for me. I’ve always wanted to be different from my family and by doing this diesel trucks has grabbed my attention for years. I’ve started to work towards getting into it, so that my career can focus on what I’d love to do.
Also i had an internship at RDO Equipment this senior year and i had the chance to experience a new type of work like working on machines and i honestly enjoyed learning about how all the machines would work and it gave me more confidence and motivation to work,Also while being there the technicians always helped me out and helped me understand the work.So now that i’ve actually worked on diesel machines i have an idea and some experience within that work area.
