Student stars are juniors or seniors in high school that demonstrate leadership and integrity in their school and community. "The recipients of the New York State Senate Student Stars Award have distinguished themselves as leaders in their schools and our local community as a whole," Kaminsky said, before presenting local students with the award.

• Nassau County Comptroller's Math, Accounting and Finance Award - County Comptroller Elaine Phillips, 05/2022, Honored among the first-ever recipients of the Comptroller's Math, Accounting and Finance Awards, created to recognize students who have strong academic records and have demonstrated a personal interest in one of those subject areas. Students honored are described to be the world's future leaders, business owners, designers, problem solvers and innovators.
